LGBTQ+ Awareness and Sensitivity
Training For Law Enforcement Officers And Trainers

Out To Protect

DiversityDHS supports proactive community building relationships with our local law enforcement partners.

Our goal is to promote knowledge and truth about the LGBTQ+ community through a formal program designed to dispel the many misconceptions and stereotypes that exist in society and enable truly useful lines of durable communication based on fact.

We encourage law enforcement to participate in this California POST certified online-only program and be among the many progressive agencies across the United States who have demonstrably proven compassion and concern.

LGBTQ+ Awareness Training, pursuant to California AB2504 is now legislatively required as part of training for new officers, trainers and 9-1-1 call center personnel as of October 1, 2020

A separate training academy specifically for law enforcement liaison officers to the LGBTQ+ community can be found at:

Awareness training programs are available to existing law enforcement personnel possessing a current POST I.D. There is a $70 course fee paid to issue a valid course completion POST certificate.
